3-Day Maintenance Strategy Development Training (RCM)

Introduction

Maintenance strategies are a fundamental component of effective Asset Management. Maintenance strategies balance performance, cost and risk to provide the required outputs within the business operating, financial and regulatory environment.

Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) is one of the established methodologies for an organisation to identify maintenance strategies aligned with the operating context of their physical assets. The resulting maintenance strategies are optimised so that an asset’s functions are preserved and the consequences of failure are proactively managed. This is achieved through using applicable and cost-effective maintenance techniques and, where necessary, changes to the design and operation of the assets.

Approach

The training is conducted utilising an instructor led approach. Training covers the language and techniques of RCM using a series of presentations, examples, a worked case study and facilitator led exercises. This course is fully compliant with SAE JA 1011: Evaluation Criteria for Reliability-Centred Maintenance Processes.

Outcome

Attendees will be able to participate in applying RCM techniques while acting as a member of a facilitated group developing maintenance strategies. The training is aimed at engineering, operations and maintenance personnel at the mid to senior/team leader level prior to being involved in maintenance strategy development analysis.
